OUR PROGRAM

In 2019, Troy Ford founded the Nationals Showcase Academy (NSA) in the heart of Fayetteville, GA. NSA prides itself on impacting and inspiring the lives of all the athletes that cross its path. Our goal is to present once-in-a-lifetime opportunities to our players while also providing them with knowledge, skill development, and life long lessons and relationships. We want to create a community of athletes who are mentally driven and eager to grow through the game of baseball.

MEET OUR STAFF

  • Troy Ford

    Founder

After Coach Troy’s high school career, he was scouted by the Kansas City Royals who offered him a free agent contract. Later down the line in 2011, his coaching career began at Kiwanis Park.

Coach Troy’s reason for starting NSA is to help athletes reach any goal they’ve set for themselves whether that includes college baseball, major league baseball, etc. He strongly believes that everyone has the potential to do great things and he aspires to help develop that gift in each and every player.

  • Keverth Carmichael

    15U & 16U Assistant Coach

Coach KC was on his high school varsity baseball team all four years. After high school, he went to Alabama State University and played in collegiate leagues throughout the years. When his baseball career came to a halt, his love for playing turned into a passion to teach.

As a coach, Coach KC wants to instill the mindset that consistent effort goes a long way in not only baseball but also life itself. His goal is to help them understand that winning isn’t everything even though it feels good; more importantly when you work hard, the hard work pays off. All in all, he aims to aid these young men and athletes in growing mentally, physically and spiritually with everything they do.

  • Andre Doanes

    17U Head Coach

Coach Andre has pursued baseball as a high-level athlete and was scouted to the Florida State League out of high school as an outfielder. After leaving the game, he began a career in coaching which included women’s softball, co-ed softball, and men’s baseball.

As a coach for NSA since 2019, Coach Andre’s goal has been to create a culture of competing against the fundamentals and not against the individual players of the game. He believes baseball is about inches and seconds & learning to enjoy the process of becoming great. With his platform and experience, he wants to teach young athletes to become men of valor, integrity and how to respect the game on and off the field. Coach Andre believes in doing things the right way by providing tools of dedication, commitment, accountability and discipline.

“At NSA, we never lose. We either win or we learn.”

  • Tyler Doanes

    17U Assistant Coach

Coach Tyler played at Whitewater High School from 2014-2017 leading his team to two championships. He went on to play at West Virginia University and gained recognition as Big 12 All Freshman Team and All Big 12 Team. Coach Tyler transferred to Indiana University for the 2021-2022 season. He then played professionally with the Evansville Otters for the 2022 season.

As a coach for NSA, his goal is to inspire, motivate and produce positive change in players’ lives by acting as a coach, friend and mentor. He wants to not only teach the game but also give lessons that can be used in everyday life. His ultimate goal is to be a positive figure that future leaders can rely on like his previous coaches.
